About  Abigail

Abigail is an event coordinator, fitness instructor, and dance artist based in Minneapolis. Her passion is facilitating bodily research - whether engaging pilates students, teaching improvisation, writing about dance, or within her own movement practice along with hosting interactive community events.

 

She and her collaborator/partner, Annika Hansen, investigate making dance collaborative and accessible. They most recently produced "Sculp/tour" at the Minneapolis Sculpture Garden in partnership with the Walker Art Center. From February- May 2019 they participated in the Red Eye Theater's "Works in Progress" program. They’ve also produced performances at Casket Arts Building, Glam Doll Donuts, and the University of Minnesota Rec Center Pool.

While pursuing a BFA in Dance at the University of Minnesota -Twin Cities, Abigail performed in work by renowned artists such as Joanie Smith, Justin Jones, luciana achugar, Gerald Casel, and Angharad Davies. She also performed work by Leila Awadallah at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. as part of ACDA.  Since graduating from the U of M in 2017, Abigail has shown her own work at Rhythmically Speaking and performed in work by Laura Osterhaus as a part of  SLO Dance. She has twice been a guest teacher for the Cowles Education Program’s Pivotal Moment teaching series. 

Abigail has been teaching pilates and movement classes at several studios in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area since 2016.
